The
Woodside Family Center is a structured female work release facility operated by The PROGRAM – “It’s About Change” for the Dauphin County Prison Board of Inspectors. Some of the resident mothers are able to reside with their pre-school age children at the Center, while serving county time. This unique opportunity reunites mother and child building nurturing and bonding relationships while employed.
Opportunity
Admission into the Woodside Family Center is an opportunity to obtain employment, participate in counseling and life skills, learning budgeting skills to save money, and locate an adequate place to live upon release.
Residents establish attainable goals and determine a realistic way to meet these goals. They are interested in rebuilding their lives and becoming supportive family members and productive citizens in the community.
“Woodside changed my life. It gave me the chance to be somebody. I can say that I’m proud to be me today. Proud.” -JBS
